Emerging Winemakers returns to the historic Public Schools Club on Friday, 16th January 2015, following the success of the inaugural Riedel Trophy event in September 2014.
Held from 11am to 6pm, this invite-only event will showcase some of South Australia's exceptional emerging wines.
The participating winemakers produce from their own boutique wineries, some are young and some have enjoyed life's experiences for a little longer – but all are passionate about their art and the unique flavour they can bring to South Australian, and the world's, wine-lovers.
The upcoming January event will have a particular focus on wines emerging from growers who produce their own product and label, as well as those who have come to the industry after a life-time doing other things.
Also highlighted will be the emerging popularity of Mediterranean and European varieties, the emerging public esteem for the 'organic' wine producers and the escalating practice of blending varieties from different regions.
As part of the festivities, event-goers will have the exclusive opportunity to sample up to thirty wines and speak directly to the winemakers from five wine-producing areas around Adelaide.
As with the original Riedel Trophy criteria, this event exhibits a consistency of standard over three wines of differing grape varieties, showcasing the versatility of the winemaker.
The ticket-price is $25 per-person which includes snacks and direct access to 30 top wines and their producers.
Each event-goer will also receive the Riedel Ouverture Magnam glass ($20 RRP) for tasting and to take home, courtesy of The Riedel The Wine Glass Company, who are supporting the event.
Tickets are limited for this event and early bookings are advised; to make a booking, please visit www.emergingwinemakers2015.eventbrite.com.au or call in to the Public Schools Club from January 12th to purchase tickets directly. The Public Schools Club is located just a 20 minute walk from the Tour Down Under village. Light meals, bar snacks and coffee will be available for purchase.
