Emerging Musicians/Composers Forum - Dandenong Ranges Music Council
If you're an emerging composer/musician/singer/songwriter, the
Dandenong Ranges Music Council would like to invite you to a forum on Tuesday September 3, 2013 to explore an exciting new project concept around creating and performing new music.
Mark Buys is an Australian musician who (amongst other things) has composed soundtrack and incidental music for Aussie films
The Line and
Shadows of the Past . He has worked for several years in Los Angeles for some of the most illustrious film scoring studios in the world.
Mark will be facilitating the forum, sharing his career path from musician to screen composer and giving you some ideas about possible pathways into composing for the screen.
Say the DRMC:
"You may be a composer or songwriter who has never heard your work performed. You might be a composer with formal training or self-taught. Perhaps you perform in a band or ensemble which creates new work. You might compose for orchestra, choir or solo instruments in any genre. This project could be an opportunity to complete compositions or create new ones."
DRMC is a not-for-profit music centre based at 1451 Burwood Highway, Upwey, at the foothill of Melbourne's Dandenong Ranges in the outer east.
The forum will be from 5.30-7pm on Tuesday September 3, 2013. Pre-dinner snacks are included. If you wish to attend, please contact Sue or Karen on 9754 6566 or email
[email protected].
