Journey to lands unknown. Celebrate multiculturalism. Delight in inspiring performances. Between June the 1st and July the 31st elements of Melbourne's rich cultural heritage will be enjoyed through the Emerge Festival with a plethora of cultural events in both Melbourne and Dandenong.
The Emerge Festival, presented by Multicultural Arts Victoria, came about to unearth the many talents of Melbourne's refugee community. The festival celebrates Refugee Week in Victoria and commemorates the United Nations World Refugee Day

Emerge Main Event @ Fitzroy Town Hall, Fitzroy. Sunday 17th June. Cost: Free Napier Street will be closed for the day as everyone dances to the beat of music from Sudan, Tibet and other countries on three stages. There will be a range of other events from a storytelling circle to art therapy.
Emerge Film Festival @ Treasury Theatre, Melbourne. Tuesday 3rd of July to Thursday 5th of July. Cost: Free
Saturday 21st July. Cost:Free Cultural song and dance performances will be held over 2 stages between 12pm and 5pm. There will also be a vibrant marketplace, cultural workshops, children's activities and delicious food.
