Sliding off the Stuart Highway, just north of Pine Creek in the Top End of the Northern Territory, you will see a big sign for .
We stopped in for dinner and had a look around the place while waiting for our order. As you walk inside, you can find the bar area with a cap collection hanging from the ceiling. The spacious eatery area in air-conditioned comfort has some rustic decor which evokes the outback atmosphere.
At the back, they have a nice and quiet timber deck to sit and relax with beautiful surroundings. Garden decorated with flamingos, with well-tended gardens and lawn. I imagined this would be the perfect location for early morning coffee with the local birdlife welcoming in the new day.
You can find some toys to keep your children occupied while waiting for their order to be ready, such as the old rocking horse. To my surprise, they also sell stamps here with a post box out the front as well.
That night I had one of the nicest Caesar salads I've ever eaten. Hubby was feeling for the steak sandwich and it was loaded with steak, bacon, eggs, lettuce, onions, cheese, tomato and beetroot and came with fries. He said it was absolutely delicious! The serving sizes were very generous, so if you have a small appetite perhaps a choice from the entree menu may suffice.
If you are travelling between Darwin and Katherine, this roadhouse is conveniently located halfway and this is the only place where you can find a cappuccino. If you're lucky, Steven the peacock might even stop by while you are waiting for your order to be ready at .
