I'm just your average Melbournian who knows how to have a great time in her home city. Vising my blog motivates you to love the small things this great city has to offer.

For those of you who think fishing season is just about over, then you in for a nice surprise.
People think that you have to wait for a public holiday or the weekend to get out there and let go in what the world has provided us, nature. I found a perfect little place to unwind after work. Living in the South Eastern Suburbs makes me lucky because I have an activity awaiting my presence just ten minutes away from home and work.
Let's get down to the real business of fishing. Emerald Lake Park is open until 8pm during the summer and makes for a perfect little picnic spot for the family and for fishing. It's also very quiet and cosy, which would make it a great place to spend a romantic evening.
The council makes it their business to fill up the lake with fish every year so catching a good trout is not hard business. The time to tackle these fish is very early in the morning or in the late afternoon and the best bait to use would be pink maggots and scrub worms and for best results, sprinkle some corn around the area to attract the fish. Also it is advisable to attack a sinker on the end of your line because it does get rather windy in that part of Victoria.
