The Embroiderers Guild of Victoria know their craft. These skilled artisans are competent in everything from lace making, canvas work, crewel work, embroidery, patchwork and even ceremonial embroidery. Thankfully, they are more than happy to share their knowledge with anyone who wants to learn and there is no end to their creative ideas.
So when The Embroiderers Guild say they are holding a 'Garage Sale', you can be sure a frenzy of excitement will ensue. Crafters far and wide will turn out for this event, and with good reason. The Guilders are promising a huge variety of pre loved bargain books, haby, fabric, linen, wool, embroidery frames, threads, lace, beads and much more.
The Embroidery & Textile Rummage Sale is being held on Saturday 30th July from 10am to 1pm at the Embroidery House, 170 Wattletree Road, Malvern. You can phone for more information on 9509 2222 or view The Embroiderers Guild website by following the link here.
The Embroidery House is open weekdays from 10am to 3pm and weekends from 10am to 1pm. If you are interested in becoming part of the guild, groups include topics such as smocking, machine embroidery, lace, crewel guidance, knit and purl, goldwork and more.
Everyone from absolute beginner to experienced stitcher is welcome to join both classes or groups at The Embroiderers Guild, and what is better than sharing a common interest with a group of new friends. This not-for-profit organisation is based in Malvern, but has extended branches in country areas, too, who are always pleased to welcome new faces. Subsidiary branches for people living outside the Metro area include Albury, Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine, Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula, just to name a few. A comprehensive list of branches, groups, classes and events is available on The Embroiderers Guild website.
