In Embla , you will find one of of those rare combinations of ambience, good food, great staff and just a general sense of well-being. When you are sitting at one of the high tables or watching the action at the kitchen bar, you feel instantly that all is well with the world. Embla has that effect.

Embla is small, cosy, warm, friendly and has just been put on the list of the 100 top restaurants in Australia for 2016 and 2017. The bar/restaurant doesnot take bookings for dinner, only for lunch, but you are able to put your name on a waiting list to be called when space is available. And it is worth waiting for!

There is seating for 60 with plans to expand upstairs. The menu is fresh, uncomplicated, delicious and changes regularly. All dishes are for sharing and most come from the wood fired oven and the open grill. If you have a chance to sit at the bar facing the kitchen operations you will be impressed by the slick and quiet way dishes are cooked and assembled. And you never know you may learn something about how a well run kitchen machine should run, no shouting and theatrics here!

There is a wide choice of wines, by the glass and as bottles, with a good mix of local and international names. If unsure what wine to have with your meals, friendly knowledgeable staff are more than happy to help you choose. The $50 Sunday lunch special has 4 courses and is good value.
You can check out some of their dishes and wines on their Instagram page.
