Talk about a man's cave! This shop is a man's paradise for every tradie and outdoor enthusiast. Once a large showroom, this building is choc full of stock to kit you out with shirts, trousers, socks, hats, belts, boots, protective accessories and any other work gear you might need.

The owners have twenty-one years experience in the field (pardon the pun) at their other store in Whittlesea. They decided to set up their new store in Eltham in 2013 because of the number of young families. This is in an ideal location, just across from Bunnings, next door to a takeaway and in the same road as all the major takeaways (Mc Donalds, KFC and Hungry Jacks).

A perfect place to spend an hour or so browsing
I have been there a number of times looking for work gear for my son. The range is extensive and the service very helpful, even for a fussy buyer. They stock many brands including Yakka, AIW, Zacs, Dura wear, Ox Trail and FXD.
Behind the counter they have a range of torches and pocket-knives. I never knew that such a number existed. What is it about men and their pocket-knives? I'm sure they couldn't possibly use all the bits on those Swiss Army knives. They have more functions than ants in an anthole. I figure they must be a cousin of all the tools in the shed that are still in their packets: essential but haven't found the right job yet… right?

How many???
This is a one-stop shop and camper's delight. Get set up with everything you need for lazy days by the river and simple cooking. My idea of slumming it camping has now been partially dispelled. They have more gear for camping than I have in my third drawer in the kitchen and if the truth be known the chairs are more comfy than mine at home. They stock first aid kits in case for camping's little emergencies but I didn't see hair dryers!

More than needed I would say!
Eltham Workwear and Outdoors have displays of large items including tents and gazebos and pretty much everything you want to fill it up. Everything seems to come in multiple colour coordinated colours, sizes and prices for most budgets. Maybe camping has become fashionable and I've missed the trend.

Tents and gazebos all shapes and sizes
I have a confession to make if it hasn't already become bleedingly obvious. I have never been camping before unless you count camper vans in New Zealand with a built in shower, power and running water. So when I asked a few questions about the stock the staff were very patient. It became clear to me before the owner mentioned it that 'It all comes down to service'.
I was going to say that I think compasses are now obsolete with the introduction of GPS's but I'd already demonstrated my ignorance enough and I figured (just in time) they don't work so well out in the middle of the bush.
So, no matter what size your tackle bag, this shop has the work and outdoor gear for you. If by chance they don't have, they will try to get it for you. That gives you an excuse to spend more time than is reasonable fishing around at Eltham Workwear and Outdoors.
