For the many people who love jazz, this is the one event you do not want to miss!

It is the annual Eltham Jazz, Food & Wine Festival and will take place on 23rd and 24th February 2019. It will be on at 1 Commercial Place, Eltham, from 12 noon until 6.00 pm.

The festival is run as a not-for-profit event by the Eltham Chamber of Commerce, with funding granted from the Nillumbik Shire Council, partners and local traders.

It is a free festival, which is held across five stages within the Eltham town and features a mixture of the well established and the up-and-coming jazz, blues and soul acts.

This festival was recently graded as second in the whole world through the American Express Essentials world top 20 jazz festivals - what a fantastic achievement! The Jackson Four is a jazz and cool blues Hammond quartet. They have been impressing audiences across Australia and internationally since 2013 with their swinging jazz, cool blues and infectious New Orleans beats.

The band had a hugely successful 2018, which included a very exciting trip to the Generation in Jazz Festival, where they came first place in Division 3. In the third term, the band entered the highest division for the first time at the Victorian Schools Music Festival and achieved gold!

Dr Crask and his Swingin Elixir are a small band playing music from the '30s and '40s.

They play swing tunes which are guaranteed to get you up and dancing with Lindy Hop in mind. They have a 4-piece rhythm section and a 3-piece horn section, together with the smooth vocals of Jen Salisbury.

Thando is a Zimbabwean born singer who has been performing around Australia with an electric presence and strong vocals. Her ability to tell a story takes her audience on a journey of reflection.

Vince Jones has set the benchmark for Australian Jazz singers since he started performing in the jazz clubs of Melbourne in the late '70s and early '80s. He has produced no less than 20 albums and often comments about the world we live in, from an idealistic perspective.
