From the makers of the Eltham Twilight Market, it was only a matter of time for the Eltham Design Market to be born. With its first event under its belt just before Mother's Day in May just gone, it's time for the second one on Saturday 27 July 2019 from 10am to 3pm at the all-weather, indoor Eltham Community & Reception Centre, 801 Main Rd, Eltham.

Show up and meet the beautiful stall holders who will be thrilled to talk you through their wares of art, design, gifts, food and coffee and more, to find that unique and thoughtful gift for someone special; like yourself. Have you seen the beautiful Ceramics Collective Change Cups around Eltham Town? Made by Josephine Cassar of @cassarclay, you'll find them at cafes and restaurants like Zen Den and the new guys in town, Earthbound Bolton, a vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Eltham. You'll be able to pick one of these gorgeous cups up at the market and try them out at the aforementioned eateries.

Carole from Buttons To Go is another creative you'll find at the market amongst many. ButtonCraft her passion, Carole uses buttons, buckles and embellishments from vintage, retro and aged to the modern button to create wearable art made from mother of pearl, glass, bakelite, celluloid, wood, leather and more. See her unique take on rings, brooches, pendants which can be removed and turned into a brooch, necklaces, hat pins, scarf clips and rings and more. A lovely lady, she'd be happy to talk you through all her gorgeous pieces.

If the secret to your happiness is a terrarium; a fairy garden for grown ups; a world where your imagination can run free as you pause and watch the grass grow, then Terrariums by Ella is the stall for you. Check out her miniature worlds behind glass that tells their own story. Perhaps it's yours.

Robyn's Baskets is a thing of natural beauty. Inspired by a lifelong love of nature, this sculptural basket maker creates some of the most amazing, interesting, shapes and forms and turns them into a usable vessel. She sources naturally shed antlers from a farm in East Gippsland and weaves it into her work. Her passion for birds and their nests have influenced her work, and she also loves using Australian natives such as Eucalyptus and Caesia (Silver Princess) and more for her creations. There is no better designer than nature, and Robyn incorporates all of its beauty in her work.

Some of the other creatives you'll find are @treeferndesigns who puts nature into her jewellery for the wild at heart with her botanical eco-resin jewellery. Like a permanent little garden to keep you zen and calm, they'll never wilt. @levershadesign brings old school ceramic making techniques and beautiful hand painted designs to her homewares and adornments. @mel_and_co_designs will help you stand out from the crowd with her unique handmade clay and sterling silver jewellery, made right here in Melbourne.

MOPSY is the creation of Melbourne designer Milana Wallace. From a graphic design background, she combines her love of Melbourne/Australia, and pure design to create original and unique illustrations of the places, destinations and landmarks she loves about her hometown. She then makes them into prints of all sizes, tea towels, magnets, notepads, cards, sticky notes and tote bags. So gorgeous and unique, her products appeal not just to the tourists and visitors, but locals as well as a keepsake, souvenir or gift.

@corkies_creations brings a different flavour to the market with their tempting cupcakes from Courtney Fernando. With flavours like Kit Kat Gold (caramel cake topped with Kit Kat frosting and gold flakes), Maple Bacon, Strawberry Lamington, S'mores and more, head to her DIY cupcake decorating station where you and your kiddies are bound to cave into temptation. All these stallholders are but a snippet of what you'll find at the markets to whet your appetite. Be sure to put that date in your diary for an amazing morning that's a sight for sore eyes.
