On the north bank of the Elliott River, the is a small township south-east of Bundaberg. Known for its Instagrammable relaxed surf beach on a small river, it's quite the little place for spectacular scenery, relaxed people and sandflies but it's got an enjoyable atmosphere and just the most gorgeously unique walking paths and a neat cafe by the shores.

The beach was easy on the eyes and one of several possible self-drive tours in the Bundaberg region that doesn't disappoint. Due to it being a special place to photograph the idea of the day was to just keep photographing. I was fuelled with the local cafe's avocado, fresh fruit and ginger smoothie - the cafe named it the 'avo-go-go' smoothie as a menu item. Thus, I just walked and snapped and hopefully the collages below are great to share in true Elliott Heads laid-back spirit.




















Elliott Heads has Airbnb options, home rentals and a caravan park that seemed to have a positive vibe and it was very family-friendly. The township has only a handful of stores if that and there is the main town by the Elliott River and a smooth, paved esplanade that continues a very long way north past further homes and black rocks and beach. It also has a surf lifesaving club as seen signed in the photos yet great vantage points and lovely aqua blue water and rockpools form when the tide is in.
