One of the best ways to view Albany is by the Ellen Cove to Albany Port walk.

This is a dual use paved path and part boardwalk so you may decide to cycle instead.

The six kilometre return walk hugs the rugged Mt Clarence hillside giving fantastic views of Middleton Beach, King George Sound and the outer islands. At the right time of the year you may even spot a whale or two.

[ADVERT]Middleton Beach is the closest beach to Albany town and is very safe for children. There is a small jetty for walking or for fishing.

A large grassy area is shaded by Norfolk Island pines. Here you find picnic benches, change rooms and a playground. There is a cafe nearby.

There are a number of interesting features along the trail including lookouts, old WWII army bunkers, a lifesize bronze statue of Kemal Ataturk, the first President of Turkey and information signage.

The trail ends at Albany port where you can continue to walk into town or return back to Middleton Beach.

Along the walk you may see lizards but they are harmless.
