From Corporate lunches to High Teas
Having breakfast or brunch with friends and meeting up at cafés that cater for this has become quite common over the last few years. It's one of the things I do to catch up with a number of my friends at one time when I'm back in Maryborough for the weekend and on limited time. What I love about country towns is that townsfolk are known by their name or remembered by their favourite dish and on the morning I met up with my friends, I was shown to the table that is known as theirs on a Saturday morning.
On the lower level of the former European Hotel in Maryborough, Eliza's Eatery in Adelaide Street caters for breakfast and lunch six days a week, with all the food being homemade on the premises. With almost 13 years in the business, owner Stacy Gleich, along with daughter Courtney and staff members Amanda, Julieann & Gina have the preparation of cuisine and service executed to a high standard. Three years ago the café was next door, but in its present location it is far more spacious and doesn't give a crowded in feeling. A large welcoming mat greets you at the entrance and the polished wooden floor boards appear to go on forever, enticing patrons to look further within.
Eliza's Eatery offer services such as catering for corporate lunches which can be made to order or chosen from their standard menu. Along with sandwiches, wraps and hot food, corporate catering can include fruit and cheese platters, dips and specialised morning teas or High Teas.
Breakfast can be purchased for as little as $3.50 for Raisin Toast with Bacon & Eggs only $9.50. However if your choice of breakfast is different from the standard menu and you'd prefer beans instead of eggs or both, then Eliza's staff are happy to accommodate. Coffee prices range from $3.50 to $4.00. A variety of lunch choices are available, which include both hot and cold items such as Rissoles, Lasagne, Quiche, Caesar Salads and Sandwiches.

More and more eateries such as Eliza's are not relying solely on their primary trade, in this case lunches and morning teas, rather they are expanding their businesses to include other means of expertise. Paintings from local artists adorn the walls with some for sale. Eliza's is the stockist for "Cellfood Essential Silica" and "Natraprac Plus" products. Natraprac was developed by Dr David Hannaford over 5 years ago and is a complete and delicious formula for those desiring a very low allergy and a natural solution for today's modern diet. It contains every vitamin and mineral for optimum health. The Essential Silica provides support for hair, skin, nails, joints, muscles, heart, brain and bones.
Stacy is also a Stemcell Therapist and a qualified Electro-Crystal Therapist with the Oldfield College of London and more recently commenced trials with a paraplegic and has successfully completed a trial on MS with 90% reduction in symptoms in four treatments over eight weeks. At present Stacy is looking for a person with motor-neurone disease to commence a trial.
