Elizabeth's is a fantastic place to buy and sell secondhand books. They have shops in Perth CBD, Subiaco and Fremantle, along with a huge warehouse, also located in Fremantle.

They are a godsend for those of us who love to read specialist genres, hard to find titles, and those who enjoy browsing through a traditional 'Alladin's Cave' style bookshop.

Given the expense of new fiction and non fiction titles across Australia, it's nice to see a shop that buys and sells both categories for a reasonable price. They also offer an exchange policy, paying slightly more in exchange than in cash value for your old books.

Elizabeth's bookshops are all open 7 days a week, with Perth's CBD store opening from 9am-8pm Monday-Wednesday.

Elizabeth's have a number of categories that are most popular for buying and selling titles. These include History, Military, Literature, Erotic Fiction and Children's books, among others.

They tend to shy away from buying books that are too popular, such as 'Chick-Lit' titles. Concentrating more on 'quirky' and 'out of print' stock. However, it doesn't hurt to take your collection in for a quote on which titles they'd be interested in buying.

I'd recommend this place to backpackers as books carry a lot of weight. Therefore this is an ideal place to offload your travel collection before you move onto your next destination.
