Great coffee in the burbs
On a Saturday morning after my exercise class I habitually make my way to the Elizabeth Café in Coburg North, after all, no pain, no latte!
Elizabeth cafe, lunch, breakfast, coffee, kids, dogs
The Elizabeth breakfast board with delicious specials

It's the kind of place that caters for the casual suburban passer-by and on any day there are mums and kids, office workers, tradies, people stopping off from shopping at woollies and the doggie walkers love it. They have their own dedicated space under wide umbrellas where dogs can happily lie. I like to sometimes sit at window bench and watch the doggies go by.

It's a big wide, square space with generous windows both communal and small group tables and has a second lower section when things get really crowded.

The staff can also make up lunch sandwiches

All The Elizabeth Cafe eggs are free range and you can build your own style of eggs on sourdough. It also does lunch time meals that include dishes such as fritters and beetroot, falafel on pita, salmon bagel and if you are feeling decadent, rich cacao pancakes.

Being situated right next to the small Coburg Hill shopping centre, the young staff know all the regulars and are always friendly plus the Elizabeth Café has a reputation for excellent coffee and I haven't been disappointed.

As you walk in there's a big green breakfast board which is updated regularly. There are always such yummy dishes as:
Toasted muesli with seasonal fruit yoghurt, blueberries mango puree and hazelnuts. Pesto bagel with pesto scramble, pepper and grilled mozzarella. Crispy poached eggs with two eggs, prosciutto, roast tomato, rocket, asparagus with mushroom sauce and parmesan. Two amigos which is soft tacos with fried egg, onion, chorizo, rocket and avocado hollandaise. Florentine which is two poached eggs with spinach, haloumi and hollandaise.

I tend to gravitate towards the delicious comfort of scrambled eggs and sampled the pesto bagel, it was so good and now in order to keep sampling the other delicious meals it means I'm off to early morning exercise class again this weekend.
