Workshops in learning how to make cheese are very popular and spaces get sold out quite quickly. Award-Winning and Accredited Permaculture Teacher, Elisabeth Ferkonia is holding classes in Cheese, Sourdough & Lactic Fermented Foods Workshops - Gold Coast on Saturday 23rd October 2021.

There are two workshops being held on the Saturday and these are:

9:30am - 12:30pm Mozzarella, Haloumi & Feta Workshop These are three fresh cheeses that you can learn to make in your own kitchen without specialised equipment

1.30 4.30pm Sourdough Bread & Lactic Fermented Foods (Vegan Friendly) Workshop

Prices begin at $79.18 to $146.86, however, when you choose the workshop that you wish to attend, the price will also be shown. If you wish to book the two workshops, you will save $20.00.

Cheese making can be easy and you do not have to own a cow or have special milk to do so, shop-bought milk works well. The first workshop above is aimed at a beginner, however, anyone can register to attend.

The workshop at 1.30pm will show you how to make yummy sourdough bread, wraps, sourdough crackers and fermented foods such as sauerkraut, fermented bean pate, tomato sauce and fermented fruit paste, which is vegan friendly. Everyone takes home a loaf of bread after the workshop.

There is no refund for these workshops, however, if circumstances change due to COVID-19, then the workshops will be postponed to another date or in the latter case money refunded according to people's wishes.

The workshops will be held at the QCWA Coomera Memorial Hall, 161 Maudsland Road, Maudsland.
