Adelaide Youth Theatre Company presents 'Elf The Musical Junior' at The Arts Theatre on December 22nd at 10:30am and 1:30pm and December 23rd at 2:00pm and 6:00pm. Based on the 2003 movie of the same name, on Christmas Eve 1973, a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts, is transported to the North Pole. When discovered he is adopted by Papa Elf, they name him Buddy.
Buddy is raised as an elf at the North Pole, but always knew he was different. He is unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. Papa Elf tells Buddy he was born to Walter Hobbs and Susan Wells, but given up for adoption without Walter knowing. Susan has passed away but Walter works in New York City as a children's book publisher.
Buddy embarks on a journey to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Along the way, he is mistaken for an Elf employee at the Gimbels Shopping Centre Santa Land, where he meets Jovie, who has given up on Christmas. Buddy shows her the way and brings Christmas spirit back to New York City.
