I fully appreciate that Gallery Walk at Mount Tamborine is mecca if you're up on a day trip from either Brisbane or the Gold Coast. A few days on the mountain and I have discovered that there are some less conspicuous destinations that the locals don't seem so keen to share.
Elevation Cafe in North Tamborine for one. No, it doesn't have expansive views across the valley. Appearances from the outside don't jump out and "grab" you as it's situated in a suburban shopping centre.
But it does have great ambience, a welcoming vibe, and terrific coffee and breakfast available from 7:30am seven days a week. On a cold, winter's morning on the mountain, we loved Elevation Cafe for its sustenance and warmth, and range of reading material available over breakfast.
I ordered a Ham and Feta Omelette, whilst my companion dug into Eggs Benedict. We both scraped our plates clean.
Elevation Cafe is situated at Shop 1B Main Western Road, North Tamborine, and remains open throughout lunch until 3:00pm.
There aren't the crowds nor the tourists. It's a good little cafe with friendly staff who don't mind a quick chat. And fantastic coffee!
Well worth a visit when the body needs refuelling.
