Reverse Garbage at Woolloongabba invites you to Brisbane Elemental Exhibition's free opening night on Saturday 15th October from 6 to 9 pm.

The exhibition celebrates the amazing works of artists who use industrial waste such as paper, wood, metal and fibre as raw materials for their art.

Be inspired by innovative Brisbane art and crafts, listen to live music from the Jesse Morris Band, watch a re-fashion parade, enjoy food from Mu'ooz Eritrean. There will be a cash bar and you can shop at the Woolloongabba Warehouse

Elemental Brisbane continues though the week with exhibitor master class workshops.

Dan Cox of DAP Jewellery will run a class on how to etch your own design onto an aluminium cuff using salvaged and non-toxic materials;slow clothing advocate Jane Milburn will show participants how to fashion a bricolage bag from fabric scraps and offcuts; Jai Watt's will teach the basics of mosaic using reclaimed titles and Mabina Alaka will teach the intricate skill of making beautiful floral decorations form rescued paper.

Finish the week with a family team marble run on Saturday October 22. Marble runs will be created from salvaged items coached and judged by students and staff from the QUT School of Design, Industrial Design.

If you don't know about Reverse Garbage it is an amazing place that sells industrial discards and also holds art workshops and educational talks and a regular Clothing Repair Cafe. It houses an amazing Emporium of recycled items of very high quality. You can sign up for their newsletter Not Junk Mail.
