Paint the town with more than just red
A global event held across multiple continents, Electric Run is not your average running race. In fact, it is not a race but a fun run with a unique difference. Health and getting exercise are key as well as celebrating and the wow factor comes in the one of a kind light show that will keep you energised and moving.
In Sydney, this 5km run takes place in Parramatta Park where you can run, walk or dance to the music and lights. DJ's will get you grooving in the start line party and help you warm up or you can grab a bite to eat beforehand and check out the Electric Run Store and Sponsor booths with their interactive displays. Get your face painted and take your selfies.
An announcement will then beckon you to the start chute where runners will be released in waves every 5 minutes. The beats will continue throughout the course whilst the electric wonders will amaze as you enter through several themed course lands.
The course lands include Rainbow Road, Electro Rainforest, The Powerhouse, Sweet Tooth Acres, and more, with an atmosphere of colour and pumping sounds that are custom-matched. There's no hurry to move throughout the course. If your favourite song comes on, stay and dance to it.
As you reach the finish line the party celebrations kick in and up a notch with lasers, glowing arches and beach balls, neon trees and DJ's mixing the latest tunes from the main stage. Show off your moves and dance the night away. Alcohol will be available here for 18's and over but you are asked to drink responsibly.
You are encouraged to dress up for the run in the form of anything bright, fluro, sparkly and shiny. If it glows or blinks, it's perfect. Come as an individual or as a team and get creative with those costumes. All ages are welcome. Tickets online vary in price from $65 and include Glow sunglasses, a high quality custom-designed event T-shirt and LED bracelet. Children 7 years and under are free with an accompanying adult.
This is an experience that is far from dull. It also contributes to charity with The Cancer Council of Australia and their good work being supported.
