The Electric Run is finally hitting our shores, with Sydney as the first date on the national tour. This November 16, Sydney Olympic Park will literally light up and fill with people running, walking and dancing in the biggest travelling party in town.
If you haven't already heard of it, the Electric Run is the coolest fun run on the planet - waiting for the sun to set before the festivities begin.
The course is set up with a number of different lands, where the lights and music set the atmosphere. A cross between Vivid and Carnivale, the participants are integrated into the overall vision and create a sea of pulsating lights and colours, as runners are adorned in LED and glowing paraphernalia. I think the video shows it best:
Sydney registration is open and filling fast. If you haven't got your place secured already, book tickets here. Children seven and under are free, so you can bring the kids on this delightful adventure.
The Australian Tour is currently also stopping in Melbourne, Cairns, Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle, Adelaide and Perth. The registration is capped for safety, so I suggest you sign up for the email to receive the dates for securing your place.
Melbourne Electric Run is now open for registration. The event will be held at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday 12 April.
While it is an all ages event, there is a huge dance party at the finish line celebrations. Alcohol is available for those over 18, but the Electric Run does ask you to drink responsibly. So make a night of it, join the fun run then dance the night away. So be transported through a wonderland of lights and sounds, and dance the night away - no one said exercise had to be dull!
