Have you wondered where the electric car went? Or thought about a future where you can drive past the petrol pump with confidence? Then this Sunday the 23rd of February head over to the Melbourne Electric Vehicle Expo 2014.
The Expo will run from 10am until 4pm and is completely free to attend. It's being held at Swinburne University's Hawthorn Campus. Head to the Atrium building and you will see it. You can find a campus map here.
Once you get there you will have plenty to do and learn. There will be over 100 vehicles there for you look at, including e-bikes and electric skateboards. Plenty of the cars will be available to test ride, and there is something to suit all lifestyles and budgets.
If you already have an electric vehicle, why not register to bring it with you and enter the 'Show 'n' Shine' event. There will be prizes for Most Attractive, Best Concept, and Best Workmanship.
There will also be food and drink available, as well as seminars and stalls to visit. One talk will be on how to convert your own bike to run off electrics. An adult could spend all day at the expo, and it will keep even kids entertained for an hour or two. If you need more information check out the website here or call the ATA (Alternative Technologies Australia) with questions. They are hosting the Expo in conjunction with Swinburne Uni and the Boroondara Council.
