Elaine cooks a fine pizza so treat the family on a Friday
I've previously shared that one of my favourite weekend breakfast haunts is Elaine's On Gordon in Ormiston, in the Redlands. See here.
It's a casual and intimate cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating, the kind of place where you would be comfortable rocking up with a couple of kiddies in tow, granny in a wheelchair, or even the family mutt. I recently spotted a local enjoying a Frappe with a feline companion (in an appropriate carry bag, of course).
Elaine's On Gordon has recently undergone a minor makeover due to popular demand and is now open for tea on Friday evenings. Opening from 5pm throughout summer, you can enjoy an easy meal out to mark the end of a busy week.
The evening speciality is pizza though there are other options such as Chicken Schnitzel, Fish and Chips, Burgers and Salads. With a dedicated Children's Menu, dining for families is easy-peasy.
We met a neighbour at the cafe and shared a Supreme and a Carnivore Pizza, both which we thoroughly enjoyed. Sitting outside in the summer breeze is a relaxed way to catch up with friends and highly recommended. And guess what? Friday Nights are BYO, so next time we will take something chilled with bubbles to enjoy with our meal.
Reservations for Friday nights are essential on 34617666, and you can also order takeaway.
Elaine's On Gordon is situated at 1/22 Bainbridge Street East, Ormiston, and has an off-street car park. Soft drinks, cakes and coffees are always available.
We're expecting an influx of interstate guests shortly. I know exactly where we will be headed for an alfresco, inexpensive meal with congenial hospitality. Unfortunately the Love of My Life has forbidden me to purchase any more indoor plants.
