Beat the high costings and lengthy queues
Experience the thrills of the Brisbane Ekka, on a smaller scale, at one of these various community events.

Springfield Mini Show
9-11 August, from 10:00am, Robelle Domain Parklands

Springfield Mini Show is a more affordable alternative to the Brisbane Ekka with free admission and amusement rides at only $2 each. Visitors can enjoy Sideshow Alley, live entertainment, markets stalls and access a selection of showbags and food vans.

9 August, 10am-3pm: This event begins with a "Tiny Tots" session. This time slot is dedicated to children under 5 years of age, with only children's rides operational.

9 August 3-4pm: A "Reduced Noise" hour is ideal for people of all ages with a sensitivity to loud noises and flashing lights.

10 August, 10am-8pm: Extended opening hours to allow for 8pm fireworks display.

11 August, 10am-4pm: Final day.

Grand Avenue S.S Ekka Fun Day
14 August, 11am-6pm, Grand Avenue State School

Head to the Grand Avenue SS Ekka Fun Day for amusement rides, pony rides, animal farm, carnival games, markets, showbags and fireworks display.

Armbands $35 each pre-sale, available for purchase at Forest Lake Shops, 10 August.


Waller Park Family Fun Fair
9-24 August, Waller Park, Browns Plains

The Waller Park Family Fun Fair is set to return with amusement rides, showbags, animal farm and food vans.

Entertainment program has not yet been finalised but includes racing pigs, cartoon mascots, Globe of Death and fireworks.

Admission is free.


Family Fun Day
17 August, 10am-2pm, Calamvale Central Shopping Centre

Spend $10 or more at any Calamvale Central retailer on day of event and receive 4 wristbands and unlimited rides.

Showbags $3 each or 2 for $5, all proceeds donated to The Salvation Army Calamvale.


Eagleby Festival
17 August, 10am-3pm, Bishop Street Park, Eagleby

This annual community celebration boasts free admission and rides. The day features live entertainment, market stalls, craft, community demonstrations, food vans and a small selection of showbags.


Family Fun Day at Logan Central Plaza
17 August, 10am-2pm, Logan Central Plaza

Receive unlimited access to rides, animal farm and face painting for 4 people by spending $10 at any specialty store or $50 at Coles or Kmart on the day (amount must be spent in one transaction, valid receipt required).

Ekka Extravaganza
10 August, 4-7pm, Bracken Ridge Baptist Church

Bring the family to enjoy a jumping castle, Ekka-style strawberry ice creams, Sideshow Alley games, face painting, BBQ dinner and special guest Peebo the clown.

Admission is $20 for the whole family. Tickets available here.


Ekka Fun Days
12 and 14 August, 10am-1pm, Bunnings Warehouse Underwood

Celebrate with free face painting, animal farm, crafts, giveaways and more.

Bookings required.
