Service With A Smile
Line 'em up
The Eira is a modern, friendly relaxed café with a lengthy bar. It has booth style seats and dining tables and full wall to ceiling windows with views of both streets.
The Eira is situated on the corner of Pryor St and Commercial Place Eltham. I have been to a twenty- first here when it was the Walk café.
Inside an informal meeting is being conducted and some mums are having coffee. It's pretty quiet at this time of day but is bound to get busier. It looks like the kind of place that young professionals might meet after work for a casual drink or a location for a first date.
At the Eira they serve a full breakfast, lunch, tapas and dinner. Eira also host musical events. Called Pub Theatre, pay just $20 and you get a pie, drink (champagne, beer or soft drink) and will be entertained. Bookings are essential.
The breakfast menu includes: fruity toast from just $3, muesli, porridge, pancakes and many eggs meals. The avocado and salmon bruschetta at just $14.90 sounds delicious. The big breakfast is only $17.90.

The lunch menu includes focaccias, risotto, pasta, salads, and mains. I note the chicken Parma is only $19, which is much cheaper than I have paid recently in Eltham. Kid's meals are $10, which is about average.
The dinner menu is similar to the lunches with some extra mains. The porterhouse steak is $29. My pick is the goat's cheese salad, which includes asparagus, roast beetroot, pine nuts, and goat's cheeses with roquette and dressed with beetroot infused mayonnaise.
Looks great and tastes great
There are eleven possible selections on the Tapas menu. I like the sound of the vegie gyoza and these dumplings are only $12.
When we walked in today we were treated like old friends. I just ordered a hot chocolate, which was served by a smiling waitress. Our reception made me want to go back and I know exactly what I want to order.
