I've just had an amazing Sunday brunch at Einstein's Relative - a great little cafe tucked away on Yarra St, South Yarra.

Upon entering, I was greeted with a relaxed vibe and friendly, efficient service. Despite how busy they were, my breakfast was served within ten minutes of ordering.

The menu is short and sweet, combining the usual breakfast staples with other more unique offerings that have a distinctly Middle Eastern flavour.

I had the breakfast special - mushrooms on toast with dill and chive creme fraiche, pepita paprika crumb and poached eggs - followed by my usual freshly brewed chai. I also added a side of bacon because I can't seem to function without my Sunday morning bacon fix.

Every mouthful was delicious and it was gone all too soon.

The theme is unique and creative - casual industrial with an edge of quirky science. Think water served in beakers, plants growing in test tubes and Albert Einstein quotes and pictures adorning the walls.

Another bonus is that I didn't feel pressured to pay my bill and vacate the table as soon as I'd finished - I tinkered away on my laptop for the next hour without the waitstaff eyeing my table.

There was also a great selection of freshly-baked treats for the sweet lovers - brownies, muffins, carrot cake & other delights - but I didn't have the stomach capacity after my delicious brekky.

Lucky this local gem is within walking distance - my mouth is already watering for the Middle Eastern Sabich Brekky!
