I've loved Laser Beak Man by artist Tim Sharp since I first came across him some years ago. So I was happy the other day when I noticed that the traffic signal box at the intersection of Edward and Adelaide Streets in town now features a Laser Beak Man design.
Better still, it celebrates Australia in the best possible way: with a pun (look at the large image if you can't quite see the words).
Tim is autistic, and often uses his now internationally recognised art to raise money for charities like the AEIOU centre at Milton (which runs programs for children with autism).
He's got lots of famous fans, including British artist Stephen Wiltshire. I also posted photos of Stephen's work when he was in town recently 'drawing Brisbane' at the State Library of Queensland.
