The
National Military Vehicle Museum is operated on a volunteer basis by members of the Military Vehicle Preservation Society of South Australia. What's unique about this Museum is that the majority of the vehicles are privately owned by the Society members and they're not just restored to look at, but are rebuilt to authentic running condition. Most are road registered and driven regularly.
The
Edinburgh Truck Show on
Sunday 6 October 2019 from 10am to 4pm is time for these lovingly restored vehicles to shine at
10 Sturton Rd, Edinburgh Parks. Tickets to the event are $15, payable at the door. Children under 15 go
FREE. Free parking, food and drinks will be available on the day.
The military enthusiast is in for a bit of a treat with armoured car and tank rides and a whole lot more on offer at a cost. Armoured car rides will be $10 & $20 and the tank $50. Well worth giving it a go to imagine what it must have felt like when it was in active service. The 25 pounder field gun firing event is sure to bring authenticity to the imagination.
The owner of the F4 Phantom Cockpit will be displaying the cockpit at the Truck Show as well. Cost to view will be $5, half of which will be donated to the museum who is always in need of funds for maintenance and repairs. You can also offer support by
donating on the website of this volunteer-run museum.
Enjoy displays of uniforms, antique weapons, military vehicles and more. Who doesn't love fossicking about in an army surplus sales which will be available, along with community youth groups, book release, sales and signing.
Fundraiser dolls will also be available to support
Australian Breast Cancer Research. This is an event jam-packed with things to see and do, along with
free face painting between the hours of 11am to 3pm.
