A garden oasis in the urban jungle
We live in the inner city. We don't have much of a yard, so often in the holidays we venture out to wide open spaces. Sometimes, however, I just have to get things done - we have to visit the dentist or some other boring but necessary activity.
There are lawns to run on, exotic flowers to examine, towers to climb, bridges to cross, bamboo to hide in, ponds and stepping stones. There are plenty of seats and benches in picturesque gardens, looking onto bush, if you care to take your time. You would never believe you were in between arterial roads in the centre of Sydney.
It's a really pleasant way to spend an hour or so in a relaxing and manageable setting. Entry into the gardens is free and there is on site parking. The restaurant gets busy, so book in advance.
[ADVERT]However, I have a word of warning to those who haven't visited, while entry is free, I've yet to leave the shop empty handed, so bring your wallet!
