The Garden of Eden
I have been visiting Eden Gardens at Carseldine for many years – and these days I find it a pleasant spot to call in on my journey from Caboolture to the city. I visited recently for a coffee and to explore this beautiful place and to take a deep breath before hitting the late afternoon city traffic.
The Dragon Fly Café is very popular – and despite being only a few metres from a busy intersection, you'd think you were miles away – with trees blocking out the vision of all the traffic, and the wildlife seemingly oblivious to it all! Ducks swim in the lake, birds visit and so do harmless water dragons from time to time. Morning and Afternoon Teas and Lunch meals are created in the kitchen by the friendly staff and the ambience is enjoyable.
For those interested in gardening there are plenty of plants to explore and helpful staff to offer advice, and if you need to learn more about getting the best success from your planting ventures, there are classes from time to time.
It's not just about gardening, though there is a lot of that! I like exploring the gift and outdoor furniture area – so much to see! Without all the hustle and bustle of the big shopping centres, it is a peaceful place to explore the myriad of gifts, especially if you are looking for something for someone special. And you can always treat yourself to the delightful nougat that sits tempting everyone near the cash register!
