A warm day will see Eden greet you with its folding glass doors open to reveal a simple, rustic interior featuring a couple of comfy couches plus solid tables and chairs. Or pull up a pew on the footpath for some sunshine. The evolving rear courtyard expanded last spring to add more seating and shadecloths, not to mention water bowls for Rover and Fifi.
Eden's baristas consistently serve up a satisfying brew however you like it – hot or cold, with beans sourced from 5 Senses. Fair Trade and organic coffee is available too. Breakfast and lunch menus host traditional café fare with some custom variations. A personal favourite is indulging in the pastrami sandwich on rye.
As for service, Eden's owner and staff are a friendly, youthful bunch with a touch of familiarity that gels well with the regulars. A little patience may come in handy during the weekend brunch and lunch peaks, though early risers can take advantage of the more leisurely atmosphere over a newspaper and extra-terrestrial muffin.
