After seeing him in 'Shane Warne: The Musical', created by himself, I was almost certain that he could not possibly top that show. Ever. So if Misanthropology gets anywhere near the success that 'Shane Warne' did, then by golly, this guy certainly is, in the world of musical comedy, just as his name suggests. Just 'perfect'.
Having already performed his new show in various locations over on the East coast, Misanthropology has already been given rave reviews.
In more simple words than 'Misanthropology', this show is a dark and twisted look at just how ridiculous the human race can actually be.
From Kerri-Ann Kennerley, or KAK as she is known, to parents who buy their children plastic surgery, Eddie Perfect takes a damn funny stab at anything and everything worth a good old poke.
As shocking as it may be at times, it's certainly honest, and as I've read in recent reviews, a laugh a minute. And not just a 'ha-ha, oh that's so true' kind of laugh. A laugh that will have you in hysterics, and the person next to you doubling over.
Eddie Perfect is a performer who you surely would have seen at one point or another. You may have caught him as regular Mick Holland on the Australian Television Series 'Offspring', or Foxtel's 'Ultimate School Musical'.
He certainly gets to show off his musical ability in both of these programs, as an aspiring musician in Offspring.
For a little of what he's got, check out his characters performance of 'Six at Best' in which he writes about his girlfriend's sister after sleeping with her. He writes this song and performs it at their local pub, all subjects present, with the main line of the song being 'Your sister's a six, and you're a perfect ten'. Funny stuff.
And now, Eddie Perfect is really getting his name about town. He won the 2009 Helpmann Award for best new Australian Work, the Victorian Premier's Literacy Award, and the Green Room Award for his musical, Shane Warne: The Musical.
Eddie's Misanthropology features a top-notch trio of backing musicians, and explores the failings, idiocy and boredom of humans in the Western Developed World.
Eddie Perfect is arguably Australia's finest exponent of comedy cabaret and with sell out shows in the East, the Astor Theatre is certainly the perfect place to experience his latest show, Misanthropology.
Please note, Misanthropology is an adults only show that contains coarse language and adult concepts that may offend, and is strongly recommended for ages 18 years and over.
