Nestled in the Gold Coast hinterland you'll find a little gem. will surprise you, as its size is a little deceiving from the main road. I actually stumbled upon it by pure chance. Only once you set foot on the walking track and start meandering off the road into the reserve, you will discover its natural beauty and scope.

Located in Elanora, just west of Currumbin and accessible via Casuarina Drive or Guineas Creek Road, this recreational reserve will keep parents, as well as kids, busy and entertained.

Walking through the reserve you'll pass horse stables, water ways, get the opportunity to watch abundant wildlife frolic in pristine waters and enjoy the views over the hinterland mountain ranges.

With lots of trees, sprawling lawns and open spaces it's also great for picnics and kicking the footy with the kids.

If you are looking for facilities, you'll find a partly covered playground, basketball hoop and an undercover picnic area with toilets nearby.

If you ask me this park is great because of its few restrictions. You can take your bike, cricket bat and dogs into the park. Where else is fun so unlimited these days?

Strolling through the reserve you'll see kids racing on their little bikes, couples going for runs, people sitting at the river enjoying the native flora and fauna, or simply strolling and enjoying the peace and quiet this area has to offer.

If you need to fill your picnic hamper, there are shops just a short walk from the Park along Guineas Creek Road.
