Take Action and Change Your World
Make your weekend wanderings really worthwhile. Ecoshout's events listings will connect you up all around Australia with grassroots festivals, film screenings, talks, plantings, bike rides, protests, public meetings and benefit gigs.

Founded in 2004, Ecoshout's mission is "to facilitate the conservation, protection and restoration of Australia's environment by providing information, resources and support to any group or individual actively working towards these ends."

Did you know that 80 per cent of Australia's native flora and fauna cannot be found anywhere else in the world? We are only one of seventeen countries in the world to be recognised as a site of globally significant biodiversity.

And yet we have one of the highest extinction rates in the world. These species are under constant threat.

Ecoshout helps Australians to help our environment. Their resources will help you to Get Skills, Get Work and Get Active.

Get Skills in campaigning for natural conservation or advocating for social justice. Take a short course in organic vegetable growing, wildlife rescue and transport or permaculture.

Whether you're looking for a career in environmental or social justice activism, or you just want to make a difference in your spare time, Get Work through volunteering or paid opportunities, available through Ecoshout.

Whatever your passion, there is a huge variety of interesting opportunities available, from Microbat surveys in the Royal Botanical Gardens to joining the Poo Crew, offering sustainable toileting services to festivals and events.

Get Active: Ecoshout lists over a hundred organisations which are dedicated to a worthy cause and are waiting for your helping hand. Can't find what you're looking for? No problem, Ecoshout will help you gain the skills to start up your own grassroots activist organisation.

Reduce your carbon footprint and live with like-minded people through Ecoshout's national sharehousing register.

As Margaret Meade famously said: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
