For those of us who love to see new fashions, up and coming designers, well-known designers, and just plain interesting clothes, this event is worth going to!
is touted as being the most significant event on the Perth fashion calendar, and I believe it will be just that!
It is Australia's first and only Eco Fashion Week event, and will be hosted by ''Green Embassy'' who are an artisan clothing label "celebrating the spirit of sustainability".
They use traditional handmade techniques, and organically certified materials to produce luxury quality. They term themselves as "elevating their wearable art pieces of fashion to a whole new level".
From November 23rd to 27th, will be showing us local and international talented eco designers, up and coming designers, as well as student designers. They will have unique designs and at the same time will provide the Perth audience with a one of a kind eco fashion event in sustainability!
will celebrate amazing sustainable designs, runway shows, conferences, design and textile art exhibitions, student shows and awards. The show and indeed the whole week will feature collections created using organic and natural materials as well as sustainable and ethical production methods.
brings together designers, artists, local community people, and remote interstate Aboriginal communities, media, businesses and educational programmes, as well as local governments. This is to raise awareness for environmentally conscious fashion while providing support to inspire all community members towards this sustainable future of fashion.
This amazing event will feature the following:
Textile art/design exhibition
Spectacular runway shows from international, national and local eco designers
Informative discussions and panels with industry experts
Fashion, sustainability pop up shops, and exhibitions
Student design and excellence awards
The opportunity for a runway show to promote young student designers and give them the opportunity to show their work to an audience
Opening gala night
Designer exhibition
Environment /sustainability photography competition for schools
Part of the aim is to get us to understand where our fabrics come from, how our clothing is made, and where it ends up after we have finished with each item. Fashion is one of the world's largest polluters and is often one of the least ethical trades.
The face of the inaugural will be Shontaye Kickett of Xpressions Models.
Founded by Perth-based Australian eco fashion designer and artist Zuhal Kuvan-Mills of Green Embassy, Zuhal has shown her creations worldwide and is now getting set to promote and show these to her Australian counterparts. This fashion label is Australia's first internationally recognised organic fashion label.
The festival will present those who are creative, artistic and design beautiful fashion as Zuhal proves that eco fashion is just as stylish and lavish as its counterpart, while being environmentally responsible.
