The first total solar eclipse of the 21st century took place on 21 June 2001.

Over 300 million people in Europe and Asia witnessed the last total solar eclipse of the century. The only place to experience the total eclipse was Cornwall in South-West England, where they witnessed a full blackout of the sun.

And here we are again - ready to experience what some us did thirteen years ago.

Thousands of people from all over the world are ready to pack their bags and head to Australia, to witness one of the world's greatest phenomenons.

Some of these people, such as me, will be heading there, not only for the total solar eclipse but also for the Eclipse 2012.
On every total solar eclipse, the Eclipse Festival is held to celebrate this event. Wherever in the world this phenomenon is visible, is where you can be sure to find Eclipse, one of the biggest music events in the world.

Held in Cairns, in November of this year, the event will go for 7 days and will definitely be a lifetime experience.

Featuring some of the best producers, DJs and artists around the globe, covering music styles such as trance, dub, breaks, house, techno, roots and more. If you like music festivals and this kind of music, start saving for this event.

The event has a food market, with an array of food and drinks spread of a couple of stalls.

There are also large camping areas with lots of trees for shade.

Be sure to take everything you need, especially considering the weather at that time of the year - it can get very hot in summer, in Cairns.

The location of the festival is easily a few hours drive from Cairns, up north.

Tickets have already been on sale - the first and second round have sold out.

The third round tickets are $350, and the fourth round is at $400.

You better be quick if you don't want to miss out on this once in a lifetime event.

Feel what happens when the moon takes over the sun and plunges us into darkness.
