Brisbane's only esoteric books shop and collections of odd
Step away from the normal with this unique West End shop, Ecclectica, which features the curiouser and curiouser to the plain strange. On entering, it looks like many other shops in the area with a dark and welcoming vibe with shelves and tables of gifts and books. On closer inspection however, you will find all manner of peculiar things including esoteric books and stuffed animals.
Pirate sailboats and antler wall hangings are probably the least strange items you'll encounter. Vintage looking eagle headed walking sticks are the norm here and you might want to purchase a snuff bottle to complete your style while you are there. A collection of bats, spiders and other creepy crawlies are framed and hung for you to put into your own home along with a statue of Ra or a plastic brain to dissect.
You can learn Tarot reading through this little store and they have already taught many budding readers the gift. For those who need a refresher, they hold one-day "Quick Learn" workshop "Learning the Mystery of the Tarot".
The jewellery range is fantastic here for those who like something a little different. Silver and gold bird skulls and brooches of foxes, ravens along with other animals related to alternative religions, rituals and orders. Perhaps you would like a skull cameo or some cthulu earrings - you will find it all here in this little shop of novelties.
