When you find yourself around the Caulfield area, is a great port of call for a quick coffee or bite to eat. Given the cafe is located just across from Monash University's Caulfield Campus, the restaurant usually appears fairly busy within semester and the lunch-time rush. This said, it's not often hard to get a table - especially as there are many outside - and being aware a key demographic of their customer base are students/staff from the Uni, the staff are usually at good delivering coffee and food quick.

Regarding the menu, while able to do a good coffee or hot chocolate consistently, it is in Chinese cuisine that Metro Kitchen specialises. Alongside quick and familiar appetisers such as Beef or Satay Chicken Skewers, mains such as Stir Fried Chilli Prawns and Deep Fried Chicken Ribs are offered.

While it's a venue perhaps best suited to speed, it can also be said the staff are a warm and friendly bunch, always happy to have a chat about how they day is going - and for students nervous about assignments due or exams coming up they're not unknown for offering a warm and kind word. A final word should be said for the online ordering available on their website. If you are in a real rush and every minute counts, it can be quite handy to have an order all done and dusted in just 30 seconds.
