Multi-talented Mum & Daughter ART Exhibition
There are many ways for a mother and daughter to bond sharing similar personalities, unconditional love, or a passionate gift. For myself and my oldest daughter it is the joy of horses and with my youngest daughter it is the joy of baking. For Janine Sisson, this very gifted mother, and Naomi, her daughter, it is their artistic talents. And they are coming together in a very special event, at the EAVESDROP Art Exhibtion at Frankston.
Mother, Janine has passed her passion and talents to her daughter and together they are accomplished artists.
Janine is a graphic designer by trade but starting painting later in life. She has trained under Terence Hadler at Manyung Gallery in Mt Eliza. Janine focuses on portraits, landscapes, and abstracts. Her abstracts can range from bold and vibrant statements of colour to the softness of mist on the water. She confesses, "My passion comes with the physical doing of the work, the activity of different brush strokes and the texture and clarity of colour and I want the picture to evolve as it may".
And Janine has instilled these ethics into her daughter as well. She has nurtured her daughter to take up the brush and create. And Naomi has at that and with magical results and at a very young age of 22 years. She is as talented as she is beautiful.
Personally, I find that when you find a job or a skill that you are passionate about, success is an almost certain outcome. And I believe Naomi is well on her way to becoming a much sought after artist. Her personality and flare are evident in her art pieces. She is an inspiration to any young person as Naomi took her beginning passion for painting to new heights at Toorak College, Mt Eliza and was the former Art Prefect. She was also the previous winner of the Mornington Peninsula Art Show and took out the Youth Prize. And she enjoys experimenting with artistic styles within the genre of fan art.
Mum states, "Namoi is an emerging talent and she is exploring different mediums including terrariums, which are her little worlds of imagination, drawing and water colours and different subjects. She is passionate about feeling the work and it having a meaningful connection. And she is seeking her way forward and will blossom further with encouragement and nurturing. And that is why we are having a joint art exhibition called "Eavesdrop"." Janine knows exposing yourself to an exhibition can be a scary but must be taken and brilliant next step to success. What a stunning gift for a mother to give a daughter.
So Mum and FRANK (Frankston Artisans Networking Hub Cre8inc Gallery) are encouraging and supporting Naomi to exhibit and extend herself. And they would love to see locals and visitors to from all over Melbourne to take a trip to the seaside and enjoy this wonderful the exhibition 10-23 July located at 31 Beach St, Frankston.
The Grand Opening will be 2 pm Sunday 10 July, 2016 and then the gallery is open every Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am - till 3 pm until 23 July, 2016. The COST is FREE but I don't think you will leave empty handed with the samples of their work I have seen so far. This is a show not to be missed and you will want a blank wall at home just waiting for an art piece from this exhibition. I personally have a stunning side table waiting patiently for a Naomi styled castled terrarium.
FRANK Frankston Artisans Networking Hub Cre8inc is a not-for-profit artist and volunteer run initiative gallery and study school created to offer opportunities for local artisans to create, be inspired and to inspire others.
