Festive food trucks, markets, musical entertainment & Santa
Eats and Beats is Logan City's popular monthly pop up food truck and music festival. It's different from a host of other food truck get togethers, though, because instead of always being at one site, Eats and Beats takes its travelling show around Logan City, resurfacing each month at a different location. Well, Eats and Beats is getting its Yuletide spirit on and revving up for Christmas, appearing weekly on Friday evenings from 20 November until 18 December.
There will be five Christmas-themed events beginning with Logan Hyperdome on Friday 20 November and then popping up in Jimboomba, Beenleigh, Browns Plains and Logan Central on December's remaining Friday nights, so wherever you are in Logan, or whether you're coming from Brisbane City or the Gold Coast, there'll be a venue not too far away.
As well as the usual range of food truck, hunger-inducing street food and talented live entertainment, the Christmas version of Eats and Beats will see the addition of festive Christmas village markets and happy wandering carollers. I'm even told that Santa himself will be stopping by.
Some of the popular food on offer from the food vendors involved in Eats and Beats include lip-smacking chicken wings from King of the Wings, delectable donut creations form Donut Boyz, paella and chicken from JAMROC Jamaican Jerk Chicken, sensational pulled pork from Micasa Food Truck, and pickled dogs from Mr America Hot Dogs and Fries. Note that not all these vendors will be appearing at every event. Closer to the dates you can check out the list of vendors and the site plan at the Eats and Beats Facebook page. There you'll also find a list of the entertainment, road closures and parking details for each event.
These are family friendly events and entry is FREE. Evenings usually run from 5pm to 9.30 pm. A large number of vendors only accept cash so be prepared. A limited number of tables and chairs are provided but you can also bring along your own picnic blankets and chairs.
Here is the program:
Friday 20 November: Logan Hyperdome Outdoor Event Area, Cnr of Leda Drive and Mandew Street, Shailer Park.
Friday 27 November: Cusack Lane, Jimboomba
Friday 4 December: Beenleigh Town Square
Friday 11 December:
Eastern Road, Browns Plains
Friday 18 December: 150 Wembley Rd, Logan Central
