Xmas foodie festival with Santa, carollers & entertainment
There will be five, not twelve, really big days of Christmas this year as Eats and Beats, Logan City's lively pop up food truck and music festival, gets into festive mode with weekly appearances in the run up to Christmas. Friday evenings from 18 November until 16 December will see all your favourite food trucks, carols, Santa, and a little more besides, making their way around Logan City.
You'll love the Yuletide ambience that was such a hit with happy festival goers this time last year. Councillor Laurie Smith, City Image Chairperson, said "Last year, we decided to transform the traditional City of Logan Christmas celebration from one big community event to a series of events tied in with our Eats and Beats festival."
"Doing it that way meant we were able to put on a free Christmas event for different communities and each stop we made proved to be a huge success so we are very happy to be doing it again."
The FREE entry all-ages events will kick off at Jimboomba on Friday 18 November. The weekly festivities will then move on to Beenleigh for the last Friday of November and to Underwood, Berrinba and Logan to light up December Friday nights. If you're a Logan local or a visitor from Brisbane City or the Gold Coast, there will be a great venue not too far away. All events will run from 5pm to 9pm
Eats and Beats' proven formula of food trucks with sizzling street food, together with talented live local entertainment, will be supplemented with some Christmas traditions like Christmas village markets and strolling carollers. You'll not only be filled with good food, but with good cheer as well. And Santa will be a very special guest for the littlies.
A full list of the vendors who will be in attendance, as well as a site map and list of entertainment, will be released on the Facebook page a few days before each individual event. Some of the delectable offerings from the last Eats and Beats event in October included lip-smacking chicken wings from King of the Wings, plump, hand-made Italian gnocchi from Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers, slow-cooked pork from This Little Piggie, and delicious Spanish donuts from Churros and Chocolate. So you know there will be something there to suit all tastes.
