You may have heard about the new Eatons Hill Hotel, and how it saw an attendance record of over 16 000 people in the first few days of opening. But how does it fare now that the hype has died down?
The pub promises a friendly and vibrant atmosphere with many levels and rooms to explore. For footy fanatics, the pub has a variety of televisions and big screens so no matter which way you're looking you will never miss the action. The pub claims to be the biggest in the southern hemisphere, sporting over 100 beer taps, and even has its own helicopter pad.
For those who are now a little overwhelmed by the thought of such a place, here's plan of attack from a local.
2. With your early arrival, take the opportunity to enjoy the restaurant, especially the extra large, mouth watering wood-fire oven pizzas.
3. After finishing off your meal, mosey on into the bar area where you can relax watching weekend footy matches. Otherwise the pub also offers a huge gaming room where you may just strike it lucky.
4. For those not into betting or weekend sports there is the rooftop bar which offers an amazing view of the local Wantima Golf Course as well as the rest of the pub.
5. About 9pm is when the rest of the crowds roll in and the real party begins, with live DJ's and a huge dance floor.
This attack plan does assume you love the night life and the crowds. For those who prefer an afternoon of intimate socialising and coffee, the restaurant does offer this plus amazing views and the breezy shade of the huge oak tree that the whole foundation is literally built around. Maybe on your way home you could grab a bottle of red from the attached liquor store.
The Eatons Hill Hotel is rumoured to be expanding massively to include a supermarket, a hotel, and a separate night club. For all your drinking, dining, and gaming needs in one convenient location, the Eaton Hills is the place to be.
