As I spend more time at Oxford Street I discover new places to fall in love with all the time.

[ADVERT]If not love then at least like. Oxford Street is well known for all the glitz and wildness but doesn't get the amount of praise it deserves for its little cafes and cute restaurants.

Yesterday I tried out two new places; Swizz Bakerz and Cantina Mobil, which were both interesting and unexpected.

Swizz Bakerz

After a hour long class on why big brands like McDonalds and Starbucks need to be replaced by smaller outlets, a friend and I decided we would take that advice and hunt down unknown cafes and restaurants to satisfy our coffee/hunger pangs.

Which is when we found Swizz Bakers along the street. It promised genuine coffee and an authentic experience and that's exactly what we wanted.

Swizz Bakers definitely was charming in its own little way. It was small but inviting, uderrrated but unique. It's a nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee and have some coconut pastries.

The coconut pastries were delicious and made me crave a few too many.

So Swizz Bakers gets my vote. If you happen to be at Oxford Street this is a nice place to enjoy a coffee and read the daily newspaper.

Cantina Mobil

Cantina Mobil was my second stop. After a good cup of coffee you need a really nice meal and I was, as usual, craving Mexican cuisine. Four months in Australia and an excessive amount of going out and eating out later, I still haven't found a worthy Mexican place. So I was quite keen on this one.

It wasn't a big restaurant nor was it too over the top. It's a small place but it's full of character. I loved the map on the wall that displayed different Mexican traits. I liked the table in the centre that forced random strangers to sit together.

It's not the sort of place you take your parents out for dinner or purpose to a lifelong love but it's the kinda place you stop and take notice of when you're craving some Mexican on your way home.

I liked it but I can't say it's my favourite Mexican place in Sydney or that I have found my favourite place yet. I'm still on my hunt for the 'best' and it seems extremely hard to find.

My heart still craves authentic Mexican cuisine ones like I've tried in the United Kingdom and it seems my search will be harder than I thought it would be.
