Eat like a Prince (Prince Harry That is) Around Perth
Want the royal treatment? Why not follow in Prince Harry's footsteps, err… make that- tastebuds- and try some of the dishes he ate while in the West Australian capital in 2015. With much of the Prince's activities in Perth, while here training with the Special Air Service Regiment was kept top secret, the few interactions locals had with the him were mostly when he dined out.
Now, if you were thinking that a royal would stick to fine dining, caviar and champagne, think again. Staff at a well known burger bar in North Fremantle were surprised when Harry walked up to the counter on a night away from the Barracks. The prince ordered a QVB, (named for Queen Victoria) at
Flipside Burgers on the suggestion of a staff member. Local media reported the staff member who took his order at the register even bothered to ask his name for the order! The QVB, which you can buy for $15.50 comes with a prime beef patty, crispy bacon, tasty cheddar cheese, free range egg, beetroot slices, salad, tomato relish and mayonnaise. Us commoners can eat-like-a-prince at a number of locations around Perth. As well as the North Fremantle outlet, Flipside has stores in Wembley, Northbridge and Como.

During his secondment in Perth, Prince Harry managed to keep his dining relatively low key, considering the paparazi interest he usually gets while going about his duties and everyday life. When the Prince, dined at
The Stables Bar in the city centre, he is said to have passed on the VIP area that management had set aside for him and his guests, instead they sat in the middle of the restaurant with the rest of the punters.

The royal reportedly ordered the pork belly for dinner at The Stables Bar and finished his meal off with a dessert platter.
Talking about desserts, His Royal Highness indulged in a sweet treat while out and about with his military colleagues. They called in to the
Bindoon Bakehaus , which is about 80 kilometres north of Perth.
The Prince had a banoffee eclair, a mouthwatering pastry filled with creamy banana and toffee flavours.
It may be a bit out of the way- but the desserts are worth the drive.
For those wanting a laid back royal experience of Perth, why not grab some sausages and head down to the Swan River for a barbecue. In 2011, Prince Harry's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth joined thousands on the foreshore for what was dubbed the 'Big Aussie Barbecue'.
