What to do with a pound of potatoes
Potatoes are cheap and healthy, especially the skin. If you are low on grocery money, why not buy a pound of potatoes? There are many dishes made with potatoes. A list of basic potato dishes may be found below.
Potato soup Create in your Crock-Pot for less stress. Personally, I use Velveeta cheese which makes the soup very creamy. However, I have been known to use slices of American cheese to be frugal.
Wrap individual russets in aluminium foil, place in a Crock-Pot, cook on HIGH for 5 hours. Serve.
Fried potato wedges If you do not want too much grease, cut up potatoes and place in a bowl. Drizzle a couple of tablespoons of canola oil on the wedges and stir. Layer in an air fryer. Cook at 375 degrees F for 5 minutes. Shake. Then, cook for 5 more minutes. Serve.
French fries The easy way to prepare french fries is to copy the fried potato wedges recipe. Simply, cut the potatoes into fries as opposed to wedges.
Potato salad Personally, I am the worst at preparing potato salad. Kindly do not take my recipe. However, I think everyone has a favorite potato salad recipe that they follow.
The above are basically potatoes 101. They are what I go to when the pantry is bare or even when I think I need a break from beef.
However, I found 80 potato recipes online! 80 recipes sure beat my basics. It just depends on what you like, the time you have and how little money you have.
Hopefully, you have found this list to be useful. Thanks for reading.
