Whip up these tasty (and cheap) savoury snacks in no time
These crackers are great with a simple dip or glass of wine when entertaining, or bag them up and pop them in the kids lunch boxes.

great for lunch boxes

Lets get started with the ingredients -

1 1/2 cups of plain flour
1/2 cup butter
1 cup of grated cheese
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt (plus extra for sprinkling on top - optional)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1 tablespoon dried herbs
2 tablespoons milk

Combine everything, except the milk, in a food processor and pulse until it is looking like fine breadcrumbs. Add the milk to form a crumbly dough.

Turn out on to the bench and use the warmth of your hands to form a dough.

Roll out to approx. 3-4mm thick and with a fork, poke holes all over the dough. Sprinkle lightly with salt.

Cut in to desired shapes. I use a pizza cutter and just make chunky squares and rectangles. They get eaten quickly so you don't want to go to too much trouble.

Bake in a 200 degree (Celsius) oven until golden brown.
