It's so easy, you can whip one up tonight
Are you looking for something tasty to make tonight for dessert? This recipe is easy and delicious, but it does have one ingredient that you may not expect. I remember making this recipe in front of my Mum one day and she looked at me, horrified. "You're putting sour cream into it?" she asked with amazement, "That sounds, uh... interesting". After she tried it, she changed her tune quite quickly, then reached in for another slice!

This recipe is one of the easiest recipes that you will ever make and it is the perfect dessert slice for the whole family. Go on, why don't you make it for yourself this weekend?

What You Need

340g bag of vanilla or butter cake mix (home brand)
385g tin of pie apples
300ml carton of light sour cream
3/4 cup desiccated coconut
4 Tablespoons butter (softened)
1 egg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Rectangle slice tin
Baking paper

What To Do

Step 1: Preheat oven to 180 degrees, fan-forced.

Step 2: In a bowl, mix together the butter, cake mix and coconut.

Step 3: Pour mixture into a lined rectangle slice tin to make the base of the slice. Press down firmly with the back of a spoon.

Step 4: Bake for 20 minutes until browned. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes.

I don't usually use packet mixes except for this 'tried & tested' recipe. Foolproof and delicious.
