A clear reflection of the area's cultural diversity, a community Moon Festival will be in Eastwood on Saturday September 6. It will involve a whole day of activities, so you'll be able to visit whenever and wherever it's most convenient.

At the moment, events planned for the day begin at Eastwood Library, where you will be able to watch as street artist Heesco creates a new mural from 10.00am to 1.00pm. A colouring competition will also be running for kids and there will be mooncakes, Yum Cha and hot tea too.

Over at Eastwood Hotel a big festival event will include food stalls, family activities and cultural performances throughout the afternoon and into the evening (from 3.00pm to 10.00pm). These activities include a jumping castle, baby animals and musical performances.

Lastly, a children's lantern procession has been planned for 6.00pm, with the procession set to head from Eastwood Hotel to the library. Lion dancers will lead the way but there will be free lanterns and lights for any kids who want to participate. Once at the library, Heesco's new mural will be unveiled.

You can keep up-to-date with plans for the festival on the Eastwood Moon Festival Facebook page , including how your kids can get their hands on the gift packs that have been provided by St George Bank.
