The Eastfield Dog Park is a fenced, off-lead play area for dogs.

The sign says it all.
It is part of the large Eastfield Park complex which contains a football/cricket oval, a harness racing training circuit, a horse and pony club and walking tracks.

A popular meeting place for man and beast alike.
The dog park is not a large area, 180 metres x 40 metres, which means dogs are always under visual and voice control of their owners.

"Come"
It is a very popular spot for dog lovers and judging by the vehicles parked in the service road next to the park it is not only locals who find the park attractive.
While the dogs run around socializing with other dogs, so too are their owners: not running around, just socializing.

Now, which one is mine?
It would appear that it is a meeting place for dog and man (and woman) alike.

I'll get it.
If for any reason a dog needs to be separated from others there are two "Dog Time Out" zones which is a secure fenced area where they can spend time alone with their owner.

House rules.
Like children, some dogs are shy and remain close to their owner, so it is a good opportunity for them to start socialising with other dogs.

Will I, or won't I?

I'll join in.
I visited on a Saturday morning and there was in excess of twenty dogs, of all shapes, sizes and breeds, happily enjoying the freedom and each other's company.

The race is on.
I cannot recall hearing one bark or growl among the canine throng.

We really are friends.
A local resident I know reports that every evening and all week-end it is a very popular venue.
If both you and your dog want to make new friends, this is the place.
