Merge great music with the essence of Easter
If you love music festivals, immersing yourself in energy and excitement from a huge crowd, and being exposed to different types of music and artistes, Easterfest is the place to be on Easter weekend.
On the 29th – 31st of March, Easterfest (previously known as the Australian Gospel Festival) will be held at Queen's Park, corner Hume and Margaret Streets, Toowoomba. This annual festival has been a yearly tradition since 1999 with Guy Sebastian headlining in 2004 and is a perfect day out with a group of friends.
An eclectic mix of musical delights awaits you during Easter weekend with a multitude of artists in different genres, catering for different age groups and music taste. If you love diversity, come check out the massive line-up at Easterfest with both local and international artistes showing off their talent.
Highlights include acts such as pop-punk band Relient K, US pop band Sanctus Beal, Aussie jazz legend James Morrison, The Voice Australia 2012 finalist Taga Paa, Australia's Got Talent 2012 finalist Mark Lowndes, international artists Around The Hill, Paul Colman, US pop band Luminate, Design Hunter, Bec Laughton, Tigertown, Jake Mauta, Mortification, The Former Love, US pop band Safehaven, Scat, and Audio Adrenaline to name a few. Don't miss the red frog dance parties if you have enough energy to burn.
It's not just music and noise, Easterfest caters to kids and family as well. Entertain your children with free entry to rides and spend an hour or two browsing the markets with its unique variety of stores. For entertainment, there is also a side-show alley and a daring BMX show with JC Epidemic Moto-X and BMX.
Younger kids will love playing at Kids World and shoppers can check out the Lifeline Bargain Bazaar with clothing selling at budget prices. For those of you who want to celebrate the very essence of Easter and worship the day of resurrection of Jesus Christ, it is not just pure fun and games. There is a gospel in the chapel program, celebrating the tradition of Toowoomba's historic churches such as St Stephens and St Luke's and a 24 hour worship venue. There is also a forum to discuss current topics and to increase your knowledge and awareness. EF TV will also be present during the event – who knows, you could be famous!
There is plenty of food available for sale for hungry stomaches throughout the day. Easterfest is also looking for people to join their crew and volunteer during the festival. Join over 1,000 people and get some behind the scenes action as well as new-found friends.
